Welcome and Introduction of Visitors: Meeting called to order at 4:00 PM. 11. Brief Reports/ Status Updates A. Committee membership — Efforts to fill Conservation agent and Community member positions: No change in status on this item. B. MS4 Permit — Review of SWMP comments and draft status: Matt reported that no comments on the draft Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) have been received to -date. He also reported that the draft was on -target to be complete by the deadline (end of June 2019). C. Make Your Own Rain Barrel workshop — Move to July or September? Date and venue still to be determined, with new dates under consideration. David Stokes has still not received answers to some important questions from CRWA. Funding requirements and sources still need to be identified. III. Discussions / Actions A. Approval of Meeting Minutes This topic was tabled until the next meeting. B. Mapping out our future Outreach and Education efforts In summary, under the new MS4 permit, we need to provide 2 educational "messages" for each of four audiences: Residents, Developers, Businesses and Commercial Facilities, and Industrial Facilities. i. 7th Grade Future Cities project (June 3, 4, or 5) David Stokes mentioned that he had reached out to the Watertown Middle School Cluster 4 teachers with whom we had worked on this project over the last 2 years, in order to gauge whether they would want our participation again this year — and to what extent. He did not expect to hear back from Minutes, Stormwater Advisory Committee meeting, 05/16/2019 Page 1 of 2 them until after April vacation, when they might begin planning for those last few weeks of school after Memorial Day. ii. "Stormwater Management in Watertown" Walk — with Live Well Watertown (June 15 or 22?) No updates were available, except that David Stokes had spoken with Stephanie Venizelos and discussed the two Saturday options in June as possible times for this walk. The sense of the Committee was that either date was fine. iii. Faire on the Square (September) David Stokes confirmed the date of September 28, 2019 for this year's Faire on the Square. General discussion ensued, with no real decisions or conclusions. iv. Further discussion about possible new opportunities No additional discussion on this topic occurred. IV. New Business / Future Agenda Items / Stormwater Improvement Opportunities Matt Shuman announced that the Watertown DPW has created small yard signs that they will use to inform people not to park on the planting strip. He also noted that DPW is working on brochures about the tree planting program and planting strip maintenance. V. Announcements Next Meeting was announced for: Thursday, June 20, 2019 @ 4:00 PM.
