me. Webb informed the eoundil of an application 4'or a Liquor
License by Mr. Charles F. Henry.i owner of the Emerald Iale::Hotel.
After discussion it was moved by:Mr. Beatty, seconded by Mr. Whittaker,
and unanimoualy voted that Mr. Henry's application for a Liquor,
License at the Emerald Isle Hotel be granted.
The council discussed the adviseebility of -passing an ordinance..;...
prohibiting signs on`;the apartment buildings in Sal Harbour. It was
the contemns*of opion that inasmuch as the deeds and zoning ordin-
ance provide that a r signsimust be appreved before erection this
ordinance would "not a ~nbeediary. . .
Mr. Baisden reported that the revision of the Village Court
Ordinance was not yet completed.
Mr. Baisden also informed the council,that he bad check3d'the
possibility of having an ordinance regarding the removal. of fill
from the village limits and found that it was not, legally. possible.:

On motion of Mr. Beatty, seconded by Mr. Whittaker, yq/�eet-

Absent: Messrs. Graham, Jr. and Simons
Also present was Mr. W. IL Webb, Town Manager.

On motion of Mr. Stokely, seconded by Mr. Beatty, the reading
of the !Inutes of the previous meeting of August 28, 1950 were
dispensed with.
in the absence of the mayor, Mr. Grahah, Jr t and Vice -Mayor,
Mr. Simons, Mr. Whittaker presided at the meeting.
Mr. Webb asked the council to transfer $50.00 from 5006-C4
Hydrant Rental Parks Department).to.Department 5005-6 (Streets and
Sanitiation-Tersonal Services). 0;3:motion of Me. Beatty,,ijeconded.

Mr. Webb explained to the members of the council•present•that , •
the City of Miami,Beach.had requested that the gallonage chargsJor
use of their,outfall be paid(monthly. It was decided to bring.this .
up at the next meeting.

• Also present were Mr. W..H. Webb, Town Manage; Mary:Wetterer,
Town Clerk; 'and Fred Baisden, Town Attorney.
Applications for renewal of U-Drive-It lid:inns Were presented
for Fincher Motors it the Sea View'HotS1 and Mdise Aut“tentais,et
the Kenilworth Hotel. These applications were approved*saJeot t9
Mr. Webb'S approval on the number of edrs.
Applications were also submitted'fbr Finehit NOtors:atthe So*
View Hotel and Gunnar W. Lind at the Kenilworth Hotel fdr Taxi
Permits. These applications weretaloa apprOvdd Subject to Mr.
Webb's approval. •
Mr. Graham informed the council that the Dade County Defense
Council had sent a Proclamation to be passed by all .the communities
designating SecembertI,.1950, as "Civil Defense Day* and asked that
all citizens register as volunteer workers. On motionHOf'br.
