PLAINFIELD BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS
MEETING MINUTES
October 17, 2019
Commissioner Greg Chapman called the October 17, 2019 meeting of the Board of Police Commissioners to
order at 6:02pm. In attendance were Commissioner Chapman, Commissioner Gardner, Commissioner Shindelbeck,
Chief Konopek, Kim McKinney and a group of students from Plainfield North High School.
Public Forum: Citizen's Comments -None. Commissioner Chapman took a few minutes to introduce the Board
of Police Commissioners and its functions to the students in attendance.
The minutes of the September 26, 2019 meeting were read, and Commissioner Chapman moved the minutes to
be approved, Commissioner Schindlbeck seconded the motion. All in favor.
Correspondence- Invoice from IOSolutions for additional 2019 Entry Level Oral Interviews was presented to the
Board. The Commissioners voted to approve. A second invoice from Standard & Associates, Inc. for personality
evaluation of entry level selection was presented and approved, as well.
Old Business- Commission Secretary Kim McKinney will continue to work with IOSolutions to finalize the
Assessment portion of the Sergeant Promotional process.
An additional round of Oral Interviews will be held on November 23, 2019 for the 2019 Entry Level Police Officer
Position. Schedule for the day is discussed and approved. Commissioner Chapman takes a moment to explain the oral
interview process to Plainfield North High School students.
New Business- The 2020 Plainfield Board of Police Commissioners Meeting Dates were presented to the
Board. The Commissioners voted to approve.
Executive Session -At 6:22pm Commissioner Chapman excused all public members from the meeting to begin
executive session. Before excusing the public Commissioner, Chapman explained that the Executive session is an audio
recorded session that is held without audience and used to discuss classified information.
There being no further business or discussion, Commissioner Chapman moved the meeting be adjourned at
6:47pm.
