A RESOLUTION GRANTING CONSENT AND
JURISDICTION TO THE COUNT OF LOS ANGELES
IN THE MATTER OF LONGDEN LIGHTING DISTRICT
ZONE 2 PETITION NO. 157-122
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los
Angeles is about to commence proceedings under Division 14 of the
Streets and Highways Code, for the annexation of territory to
Longden Lighting District; and
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation will have street lights
installed in the City of Temple City; and
WHEREAS, all of the land included in the proposed annexa-
tion lies within the boundary of the City of Temple City,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Temple City as follows:
SECTION 1.
That the public interest, convenience and necessity re-
quire the maintenance of a street lighting system located within
said territory as shown on the maps of the annexation to the Longden
Lighting District approved by the County Boundary Commission on the
6th day of February, 1963, and on file in the office of the Road
Commissioner,and as set forth in the proposed Resolution of Inten-
tion of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles for
this annexation, a copy of which resolution, incomplete as to dates
and similar information which can only be inserted at the time of
adoption, is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2.
That this City Council hereby consents to the annexation
of said territory as described in said proposed Resolution of Inten-
tion, included within the boundaries of said annexation, and lying
within the boundary of the City of Temple City.
SECTION 3.
That this City Council hereby finds and determines that
the lands included within the boundary of the proposed annexation
as set forth in said proposed Resolution of Intention, lying within
the boundary of the City of Temple City, will be benefited by the
said proposed annexation to the maintenance district, and hereby
consents to the inclusion of said lands within the proposed annexa-
tion and to the assessment thereof.
SECTION 4.
That the consent of this City Council is hereby given to
the commencement of the proceedings for said annexation to the Long -
den Lighting District by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Los Angeles, and to the exercise of exclusive jurisdiction of said
Board of Supervisors over all proceedings necessary thereto for the
purpose of consummating the same, all in accordance with the provi-
sions of Division 14 of the Streets and Highways Code.
SECTION 5.
That the Clerk of the City Council is hereby directed to
certify and deliver two copies of this resolution to the Clerk of
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles.

SECTION 6.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this reso-
lution by the City Council of the City of Temple City and shall
cause the same to be posted in three (3) conspicuous places in the
II City of Temple City, and it shall thereupon take effect.
1 HEREBY CERTIFY THAT the foregoing resolution was adopted
by the City Council of the City of Temple City at its meeting held
October 28, 1963, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen- Dickason, Fitzjohn, Merritt, Tyrell, Nunamaker
NOES: Councilmen -None
ABSENT: Councilmen -None
