RESOLUTION NO. 63 -320
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AWARDING CON -
TRACT TO CONSTRUCT ALTERATIONS AND
MODIFICATIONS OF THE FORMER COUNTY
LIBRARY BUILDING LOCATED AT 5838
KAUFFMAN STREET, TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA
+ WHEREAS, the City of Temple City has heretofore authorized
the publication of Notice Inviting Bids pertaining to the alteration
and modification of the former County Library into a new City Hall fac-
ility; and
WHEREAS bids were, pursuant to law, duly received and opened
on October 24, 1963, at 4 :00 P. M,; and
WHEREAS, Colletta & Edgley, 159 Waverly Dr., Alhambra, Calif-
ornia, was determined to be the low bidder; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid low bidder has met all the bonding re-
quirements and is entitled to be awarded the contract for the subject
work pursuant to approval by the City Council of the City of Temple
City; and
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City will be financially able to
award the contract to the aforesaid bidder upon receipt of $206,673.33
from the County of Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, said sum of $206,673.33 has not as yet been received
by the City of Temple City but is anticipated to be received upon the
conclusion of certain legal matters with the County of Los Angeles,
IINOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Subject to the City of Temple City receiving from
the County of Los Angeles the sum of $206,673.33 as payment due to the
City of Temple City pursuant to the terms of that certain Joint Powers
Agreement between the County of Los Angeles and the City of Temple City
respecting the exchange of properties and the construction of a new
County Library facility, the City of Temple City does hereby find that
Collette & Edgley is the low bidder upon that certain Invitation to Bid.
No. 12, for construction of City Hall Building, in the sum of $132,320 4
and the City does hereby award to said Company the contract in the sum
of $132,320.00 plus Alternate No. 1 in the sum of $905.00 and Alternate
No. 2 in the sum of $990.00, making a total of $134,215.00.
SECTION 2. The City Attorney is instructed to prepare a con-
tract to be executed by the City and the low bidder pursuant to the
terms of the Invitation to Bid.
SECTION 3, The City Manager, William Woollett, Jr., or the
Assistant City Manager, Karl Koski, and the Mayor A. L. Nunamaker, or
the Mayor Pro Tem, Howard M. Dickason, are hereby authorized, upon ap-
proval of the City Attorney, to execute the aforereferenced contract
1 to.be prepared by the City Attorney.
SECTION 4. Upon approval of the City Attorney, the City
Manager, William Woollett, Jr., or the Assistant City Manager, Karl
Koski, and the Mayor, A. L. Nunamaker, or the Mayor Pro Tem, Howard
M. Dickason, are hereby authorized to make and execute any documents
which may be necessary to carry out the intent of the contract between
the low bidder and the City of Temple City.
