Dear Trustees:
On behalf of the Home Builders Association of St. Louis and Eastern Missouri (HBA),
we respectfully ask for your support in the continuation of the HBA position as a
representative organization on the MSD Rate Commission. We take our role on the
Commission for the community seriously and have welcomed the opportunity to
participate on the Commission.
The HBA has been represented by Mr. William Allen of The Jones Company. Mr. Allen
has provided exemplary participation and has developed a strong understanding of
M.SD's operations and rate structure issues. It would be our intention to have Mr. Allen
continue to serve for the HBA on the Rate Commission.
The HBA represents about 1,400 member companies involved in all aspects of the
housing industry. Since the HBA's inception in 1934, HB.A members have built most of
the neighborhoods throughout the region that families call home. This brings our
members into regular contact with MSD on issues associated with home building, and our
members understand the importance of cost to future and existing home owners,
The HBA is most interested in continuing to participate in the MSD Rate Commission,
and we believe our contribution would continue to have value to MSD. We have sent a
similar letter to the other MSD Board members. Thank you for your consideration on
this natter.
