APPROVING TRANSFER OF BALANCES IN THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret was awarded funding from the 2001-
2002 CDBG Program for the purchase of a Senior Citizen Transportation Bus
in the amount of $56,000.00 under Project #224239, and the creation of a
Children's Community Garden in the amount of $5,000.00 under Project
#224238; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of the bus was completed, leaving a remaining
balance of $12,181.00; and
WHEREAS, due to a pending redevelopment project, the Children's
Community Garden was never completed; and
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is requesting to transfer the remaining
balance of funds to be transferred into two (2) separate projects: the amount
of $10,000.00 for Handicap Curb Cuts; and $7,181.00 for an Energy-efficient
Program; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret approve these transfers to be further approved by the
Middlesex County Housing and Community Development Board;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution with original
signatures of the Mayor and Borough Clerk along with seal, be forwarded to
Paul Buckley, Senior Program Monitor, Middlesex County Housing and
Community Development.
