AMENDING CHAPTER 12.1 OF THE TOWN CODE TO PdEVISE THE
PERSONNEL SYSTEM FOR THE OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE
TOWN OF LEESBURG
WHEREAS, the Personnel Office, Employee Advisory Committee and Personnel Committee have
recommended amendments and revisions to the Personnel Manual to comply with state and federal laws
and update rules and policies.
THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as fi)llows:
Section I. In accordance with Section 15.1-7.1 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, the Town of
Leesburg Personnel Manual is hereby amended and revised. The complete text submitted in the Town
Council's information packet of April 18, 1997, is available in the office of the Clerk of Council.
Section II. As required by State Code, a copy of Article 21 of these rules, which establishes a
Grievance Procedure, shall be forwarded to the Commonwealth's Director of the Department of Employee
Relation Counselors for approval in accordance with Section 15.1-7. l of the Code of Virginia, as amended.
Section III. Should any section, sub-section, sentence, clause or phrase of these rules be declared
invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decisions shall not affect the validity of these rules in
their entirety or any part thereof, other than that so declared invalid.
Section IV. This ordinance shall be in effect upon passage.
