HomeMy Public PortalAbout2998-1975 - APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF 8000 FROM THE MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY CASH OPERATING FUNDORDINANCE NO. 2998-1975 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS ($8,000). FROM THE MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY CASH OPERATING FUND TO MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY SUPPLIES" (3-32-322) OIL $1,000.00 AND TO PROPERTIES (7-72- 726) OTHER EQUIPMENT $7,000.00. WHEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money for the various functions of the City Government than was appropriated in the annual budget. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CO14,1ON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA: SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its insti- tutions for the year ending December 31, 1975, the following amount of money is hereby appropriated and set apart out of the fund named and for the purpose specified. Said sum being subject to all laws governing the same. Such amount appropriated shall be held to include all expenditures to be made during the year unless expressly stipulated by law. SECTION 2. That for the said fiscal period there is hereby appro- priated from the Motor Vehicle Highway Cash Operating Fund the following specified amount to meet the extraordinary emergency hereby declared to exist: AlJOUNT REQUESTED AMOUNT APPROPRIATED "SUPPLIES" (3-32-322) Oil $1.000.00 $1,000.00 "PROPERTIES" (7-72-726) OTHER EQUIPMENT $7,000.00 $7,000.00 SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana governing emergency appropriations. Councilman _Merchanthouse presided with the following members present: Messrs. Rrnwn , Cornett , Elstro , Geier , Hilton , Marino , Mills Williams Absent: None , The following business was had to -wit: (OTHER BUSINESS HAD) The Clerk presented proof of publication of Notice to Taxpayers printed in the Richmond Palladium Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of May 8 and May�l5, 1975 Said notices stated that a public hearing would a held on the 19th days by the Common Council to consider additio-nir ppropria- t ons as provided or in Ordinance No. 2998-1975 , within the City of Richmond, Indiana. The proof of publication and posting of notices were examined and found to be correct and in order. Councilman Gejer moved the proof of publication and posting of notices be rece v� ed and -ordered filed, seconded by Councilman Williams , and on voice vote the motion was carried. The Clerk read on second reading Ordinance No. 2998-1975 Councilman Mills moved for engrossment of Ordinance No. 2998 -1975, seconded by Councilman Williams and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Councilman Geier moved for suspension of the rules and read on third reading by title only Ordinance No. 2998-1975, seconded by Councilman Mills and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. The Clerk read on third reading by title only Ordinance. No. 2998-1975. After hearing all persons present, Ordinance No. 29g8_1975 was placed on final passage or rejection and on a call of the roll the folllowi g.was recorded: Ayes; Brown Cornett Elstro , eier Hilton, Marino Mills Williams Merchanthouse Noes; None Absent:Npne- The vote being c _ to 0 in favor of passage of Ordinance No. 2998-1975.
