RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE AGREEMENT ACCEPTING GATEWAY SIGNS
TO CITY FROM JUNIOR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS, the Junior Chamber of Commerce of the City of
Temple City, hereinafter referenced as "The Junior Chamber ", a
non - profit association, has with diligent civic effort caused
the creation of certain handsome signs at the main westerly and
easterly gateways to the City of Temple City, hereinafter refe-
renced as the "City ", and
WHEREAS, the Junior Chamber desires to present said signs
to the City to enable the City to properly and adequately main-
tain same, and
WHEREAS, the Junior Chamber desires that said signs be used
only for the purpose of providing dignified identification of the
Temple City boundaries at the principal gateways to the City of
Temple City, giving notice thereon of the service clubs within
the City, and
WHEREAS, the City desires to accept said signs and to main-
tain same for such period of time as shall be deemed a reasonable
life for such signs, and
WHEREAS, the Junior Chamber and the City desire that the
acceptance of the subject signs be accomplished by agreement as
to their use to prevent any future misunderstanding,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The best interests of the City of Temple
City shall be served by acceptance of the beautiful signs erected
by the Junior Chamber of Commerce for the benefit of the people
of Temple City and that said signs be used for the civic purposes
intended, and that to insure no future misunderstanding concern-
ing same, the City enter into the Agreement with the Junior
Chamber of Commerce of Temple City attached hereto, marked
Exhibit 1. and made a part hereof as though set forth in full.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby autho-
rized and directed to execute the contract referenced in Section
1 above as Exhibit 1.
