FOR ANIMAL WARDEN, OF THE
WHEREAS, the County of Loudoun Director of the Department of Animal Care and Control has
advised that the town's code must be updated to allow the county to perform animal control services in
Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, the language in Section 4-8 of the Town Code authorizes the animal warden for the
town to be the animal warden appointed by the county.
THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
Section I. Section 4-8 of the Town Code is amended as follows:
Sec. 4-8. Authority for~voa~-~ animal warden.
In accordance with section 29 213.$15.1 ~510 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended,
there is hereby created the position of dag animal warden and provisions made for the licensing and
regulation of dogs animals in this town. The dog animal warden for the town shall be the dang-animal
warden appointed by the county. The duties of the dog animal warden shall be those provided for in
section 29 2 ! 3.8 3.1-769.104 et seq. of the State Code, as amended., and Chapter 612, Dogs and Other
Animals of the Loudoun County Code, as amended, and such other duties as may be authorized and
regularly performed by the~ve,a"" animal warden in the county.
Section II. This ordinance shall be in effect upon its passage.
