APPOINTING CRAIG J. COUGHLIN, ESQ. AS SPECIAL
COUNSEL FOR TRANSITION MATTERS
WHEREAS, until February 1, 2001 Craig J. Coughlin, Esq. was the Borough
Attorney for the Borough of Carteret; and
WHEREAS, as a result of his position as Borough Attorney, Craig Coughlin was
actively and substantially involved in a number of ongoing legal matters; and
WHEREAS, the current Borough Attorney has recommended to the Mayor and
Council that Mr. Coughlin be retained to provide professional legal services in
connection with various transition matters; and
WHEREAS, legal services are a professional service exempt from the requirement
of public bidding pursuant to N.J.S.A 40:11-5(1)(a); and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret does hereby approve the appointment of
CRAIG J. COUGHLIN, ESQ.
as special Counsel for transition matters at an hourly rate of $125.00, not to exceed
an initial maximum cost of $5,000.00.
