AN ORDINANCE: AMENDING SECTIONS

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on April 8, 1997 regarding the imposition of new
water and sewer fees for service outside the town's corporate limits; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to impose a surcharge on user fees for all water
or sewer connections without corporate limits of the town.

THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the

SECTION I. Section 15-57 of the Town Code is amended to read as follows:
Section 15-57. Charge where connection made to both water and sewer system.
Where connection has been made to both the town water and sewer system, the
charge for use of the sewer system shall be based on time and quarterly water meter
readings taken to the nearest 1,000 gallons based upon the winter quarter metered water
consumption at the following rates:
(1) For.prenfi_ses inside the town, the rate shall be $3.21 per 1,000 gallons.
(2) For premises outside the town, the rate shall be $3.69 per 1,000 gal[Ions.
'SECTION II. Section 15-58 of the Town Code is amended to read as follows:
Section 15.58. Charge where connection made to sewer system only - Generally.
Where connection has been made to the town sewer system only, the charge for
use of the sewer system shall be as follows:
(1) For premises inside the town, the rate shall be $59.00 per quarter.
(2) For premises outside the town, the rate shall be $68.00 per quarter.

SECTION III. Section 19-45 of the Town Code is amended to read as follows:
Section 19-45.
Rates established.
The charge for use of water from the town water system shall b.e based on
quarterly meter readings taken to the nearest 1,000 gallons at the following rates:
(1) For premises inside the town, the rate shall be $2.67 per 1,000 gallons.
(2) For premises outside the town, the rate shall be $3.07 per 1,000 gallons.
(3) If metered water consumption during any quarter other than the designated
winter quarter shall exceed the winter quarter water consumption by 35
percent then the rate shall be increased by 36% for the affected quarter.
SECTION IV. The rates contained in this ordinance for premises outside the town shall be
in effect on July 1, 1998 and shall increase by an additional 14 percent on July 1, 1999, and shall
increase by an additional 14 percent on July 1, 2000.
SECTION V. This ordinance shall be in effect for billings after July 1, 1998.
