AMENDING ARTICLE III OF THE TOWN CODE
WHEREAS, the personnel office and Personnel Committee recommend changes to the
Town Code and Personnel Manual.
THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. Article III of the Personnel Manual is hereby amended as follows:
TOWN ATTORNEY
Sec. 2-38. Attendance at council meetings.
The town attorney shall attend all council meetings, planning
commission meetings and other meetings as required.
Section 2-39. Annual Report
The town attorney shall make an annual report to the council, giving a
condensed statement of the business done in his office for the town in
the year immediately preceding such report. This report shall contain a
list of deeds, contracts, and the like to which the town was a party.
Such report shall also contain statement of the unfinished business in
the hands of the town attorney, with such suggestions with reference to
the interest of the town as he may deem pertinent. (Code 1963, § 2-16)

AN ORDINANCE: AMENDING ARTICLE III OF THE TOWN CODE
Sec. 2-42. Appointment and supervision.
The town attorney shall be appointed by the town manager, in
accordance with the provision of the Charter, and shall be subject to
his/her supervision and control.
Section 2-43. Duties.
The town attorney shall advise the council, the manager, department
directors, and all boards and commissions of the town on legal matters
and perform such other duties as may be provided by the council or the
manager.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in effect upon its passage.
