HomeMy Public PortalAbout2000_03_14_O008 Zoning Ordinance Amendment - FAR in PEC DistrictThe Town of Leesburg, ,. lrglnlfl PRESENTED March 14, 2000 ORDINANCE NO. 2000-0-08 ADOPTED March 14, 2000 AN ORDINANCE: APPROVING A ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO SECTION 7A-10 SUPPLEMENTAL REGULATIONS TO ALLOW AN INCREASE IN FLOOR AREA RATIO FOR LOTS IN THE PLANNED EMPLOYMENT CENTER DISTRICT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS WHEREAS, it is the intent and desire of Council to promote and enhance economic development in the Planned Employment Center (PEC) District; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance has a supplemental regulation which limits the floor area ratio allowed on individual lots in the PEC District; and WHEREAS, amending the supplemental district regulation regarding floor area ratio will allow PEC Districts to be developed more efficiently in accordance with the floor area ratio approved for the particular district; and WHEREAS, the proposed amendments will facilitate economic development within the Town; and WHEREAS, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice require the proPosed amendments. THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the Council of the Town Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. All prior ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION III. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance is declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the decision shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any remaining provisions of the zoning ordinance.
