1. Trail Wardens report from Mike Boelsen: Mike and John Gardner have been pruning and
removing the hazardous trees on Center and Echo Trails that they are able to manage. They
will be working random weekdays, 9-11, and would welcome assistance. They will continue
to announce their work dates by email. They estimate a need for two more “Joe Regan days”
to deal with trees that are beyond their capabilities. Although Jane contacted the mosquito
Control organization about spraying these trails, there has been no response as yet from them.
Mike will follow up on this matter.
2. Liason reports:
Eric attended the Planning Board meeting. There was an active discussion regarding the
Emergency Road/Trail plans for the new school on the Irvine property. The next meeting
is August 8 and the discussion is expected to continue.
Jane reported that the Board of Selectmen will take up the renaming of the Wyckoff
property to Echo Trail on 9/13/16. She also reported that VHB, the engineering firm hired
by the town for the Main Street project, is already at work on Phase 1 of the trail. Cones
have been placed in the EMC Park area. She also mentioned that the guard rail on Loop
Road has been “opened” for bike access from the north segment of Center Trail.
Members also discussed issues around getting heavy equipment into Center Trail to
perform major tree work.
3. VHB updates: See Jane’s report above.
4. Milford side approach to Hopkinton Path: Eli handed out his packet of maps that present
Options 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 200 and 300. Each option was discussed by members.
