HomeMy Public PortalAbout8/27/1991 special" " " GREENCASTLE COMMON COUNCIL Special Session August 27, 1991 The Greencastle Common Council met in special session on Tuesday, August 27, 1991 at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall. On call of the roll the following members were shown to be present: Councilor Sheri Roach, Councilor Tim Conway, Councilor Sue Murray, Councilor Bob Sedlack, Councilor Mike Rokicki. Also present were city attorney Larry Wilson, Park commissioners Leslie Hanson and Bob Breese, and park director Stan Lambert. Approval of Minutes: The minutes of August 20, 1991 special session were distributed to Council. Councilor Rokicki moved to approve the minutes as presented. This motion was seconded by Councilor Roach and was carried by an ave unanimous vote. Recommendations and Requests from Officers and Departments: Ordinance 1991 -18, An Ordinance of the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana Concerning the Construction of a Swimming Pool in Robe -Ann Park by the Greencastle Board of Park Commissioners through the Issuance and Sale of Bonds, was presented to Council for second reading and read by title only by Mayor Harmless. Councilor Murray moved to approve Ordinance 1991 -18 as presented. This motion was seconded by Councilor Rokicki. Mrs. Hanson noted that four bids were received with base bids ranging from $1,296,000.00 to $1,396,987.00 plus alternates and that the Board is still reviewing the options in preparation of tentative award of contract. Councilor Sedlack commented on the value of maintaining the activity building within the scope of the project to enhance programming. It was announced that the Board would be meeting at 7:00 p.m. this date for further review and discussion. On call for the question the motion was carried by the following vote. AYES: Councilor Roach Councilor Rokicki Councilor Murray Councilor Sedlack NAYS: Councilor Conway Mayor Harmless declared Ordinance 1991 -18 to have been passed and adopted this date. Council Reports and Comments: Councilor Murray reported that the Greater Easlside Sewer Separation Project meeting held on Sunday, August 25, 1991 was well received and provided an opportunity for residents of the area to ask questions and make comments on the project. Mayor Harmless thanked Lucy and Mike Duncan for hosting the meeting in their yard. The Mayor continued that a second meeting will be scheduled in October and hosted by Alva Shillings. Councilor Sedlack reported his attendance at the Slate Board of Accounts audit exit conference held Monday, August 26, 1991 at City Hall. He noted that the only audit comments were of a housekeeping nature, the books have been very well kept, and that he was pleased with the report, praising the of forts of the clerk- lrcasurer. ,r 0 CC 8/27/91 Page 2 With no further business Councilor Roach moved for adjournment.
