ORDINANCE NO. 2001-0-9 ADOPTED June 26, 2001
AN ORDINANCE: AMENDING CHAPTER 10, ARTICLE VI, DIVISION 3, SECTIONS 10-187 &
10-188, OF THE TOWN CODE FOR HOURS OF FREE PARKING AND FOR
PARKING FEES FOR SPACES RENTED ON A MONTHLY BASIS IN THE
PARKING GARAGE.
WHEREAS, the adopted budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2002, includes
revenue which is anticipated to be generated by limiting the time of free parking in the downtown
garage from two hours to one hour; and
WHEREAS, the staff has recommended and the Town Council has expressed its intent to
raise the parking fees for spaces rented on a monthly basis in the downtown parking garage from
$40.00 to $50.00 a month; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the discount rate for rental of at least eight spaces be
increased due to the monthly rate being increased; and
WHEREAS, to effect the above changes amendments must be made to Chapter 10, Article
VI, Division 3, Section 10-187 and Section 10-188 of the Town Code.
THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that
Sections 10-187 and 10-188 of the Town Code are amended to read as follows:
SECTION I.
Section 10-187. Parking fees for spaces rented on other than a monthly basis.
On Monday through Friday the fee shall be $0.50 for each hour or part thereof,
provided, however, that the maximum charge for continuous parking for any period of time up to
24 hours shall not exceed $4.00. The first twe one hours of parking shall be free of charge.

SECTION II.
Section 10-188. Parking fees for spaces rented on a monthly basis.
The parking fees for spaces in the facility permitted on a monthly basis shall be ?.9.99
$50.00 per month for each space. A discount rate of $25.90 $35.00 per month per space shall be
the fee for the purchase of at least eight spaces.
SECTION Ill. These amendments will be effective July 1, 2001.
