AN ORDINANCE:
AMENDING CHAPTER 15, ARTICLE I, SECTION 15-12 AND CHAPTER
19, ARTICLE II, SECTION 19-21 OF THE TOWN CODE REGARDING
WATER AND SEWER CONNECTION FEES
WHEREAS, the adopted budget for fiscal year ending June 30, 2002, includes expenditures for
conversion of the water metering system to a radio-read system; and
WHEREAS, all new water connections to the system are required to provide radio-read meters;
and
WHEREAS, the fees provided in the existing Town Code are insufficient to meet current
expenses for water and sewer connections; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the following amendments to provide for recovery of expenses for
new connections to the town's water and sewer system.
THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that Sections
15-12 and 19-21 of the Town Code are amended to read as follows:
SECTION I. Section 15-12 of the Town Code is amended as follows:
Sec. 15-12. Fee for sewer connection - w-'.th:'n cerFe, rate. Fro:ts
Before any person connects with or discharges sewage into the town sewer
system, a fee for the connection permit issued under section 15-10 of the Code shall be
paid in amounts provided below:

town's service areas, as established by Town Council, where the town provides
all materials, equipment and labor for installation of a sewer connection shall be
$1,956.00 $50.00 plus the cost of labor, equipment, materials and administrative
overhead of 15%.

subdivider provides all mterials, equipment, ~d labor for installation of a sewer
connection shall be $50.00.

SECTION II. Section 19-21 of the Town Code is amended as follows:

Before any person connects with or withdraws water from the town system, a fee
for the connection permit issued under section 19-19 of the Code shall be paid in amounts
provided below:
