AN ORDINANCE: AMENDING SECTIONS 6-1 AND 6-2 OF THE TOWN CODE
RELATING TO PRECINCTS AND VOTING PLACES
WHEREAS, the Town desires to change the precincts and voting places in the municipality;
WHEREAS, a public notice was placed in the Leesburg Today on January 11m and 18t~ , 2002
announcing a public hearing on these proposed changes;
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on January 23, 2002..
THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I.
Section 6-1 of the Town Code is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 6-1. Precincts.

Sec. 6-1. Precincts
There shall be four voting precincts in the municipali _ty as follows:
All references to streets shall be interpreted asto the centerline.

(a) Precinct number 501, Northwest Leesburg (Town Code 1440A)'
beginning at the junction of State Route 7 and the western corporate line of the Town of
Leesburg; thence north and east along the corporate line of the Town of Leesburg to it.~
intersection with U. S. Route 15 Business (North King Street); thence south along U. S. Route 15
Business (North King Street) to its intersection with State Route 7 (Market Street) in the center of
the Town of Leesburg; thence west on State Route 7 Business (Market Street) to the point of
beginning at the junction of State Route 7 (Market Street) and the western corporate line of the
Town of Leesburg.
b~b_) Precinct Number 502 Northeast Leesburg (Town Code 1440B)
Beginning at the intersection of State Route 7 (Market Street) and U. S. Route 15 Business (King.
Street) in the center of the Town of Leesburg; thence north along U. S. Route 15 Business (North
King Street) to its junction with Route 837 Dry_ Hollow Road crossing State Route 15 Bypass to
Balls Bluff Road; thence east onBalls Bluff Road to the northern corporate line of the Town of
Leesburg; thence east and north along the corporate line of the Town of Leesburg to the south
bank of the Potomac River; thence south along the south bank of the Potomac River to the eastern
corporate line of the Town of Leesburg; thence south along corporate line of Town of Leesburg to
State Route 7 (East Market Street); thence west along State Route 7 Business {East Market Street)
to the point of beginning at the intersection of State Route 7 Business (Market Street) and U. S,
Route 15 Business (King Street) in the center of the Town of Leesburg.
~ Precinct Number 505 Southeast Leesburg {'Town Code 1440C)
Beginning at the of intersection of State Route 7 Business (East Market Street) and U. S. Route
15 Bypass; thence east along State Route 7 Business (East Market Street) to its junction with
State Route 653 (Cochran Mill Road) being the southern corporate line of the Town of Leesburg;
thence west and south along the corporate line of the Town of Leesburg, crossing the Washington
and Old Dominion Trail; thence continuing along the corporate line of the Town of Leesburg to
its intersection with U. S. Route 15 Business (South King Street); thence north on U. S. Route 15
Business (South King Street) to its intersection with State Route 7 Business (Market Stree0 in the
center of the Town of Leesburg; thence east on State Route 7 Business (East Market Street) to the
point of beginning at the intersection of State Route 7 (East Market Street) and U. S. Route 15
Bypass.
(d) Precinct 405 Southwest Leesburg (Town Code 1440D)
Beginning at the junction of State Route 7 (Market Street) and the western corporate line of the
Town of Leesburg; thence east on State Route 7 (Market Street) to its intersection with U. S.
Route 15 (King Street) in the center of the Town of Leesburg; thence south on U. S. Route 15
Business (South King Street) to its intersection of the southern corporate line of the Town of
Leesburg, thence west and north along the corporate line of the Town of Leesburg to the point
of beginning at the junction of State Route 7 (Market Street) and the western corporate
line of the Town of Leesburg.
SECTION II.
Section 6-2 of the Town Code is amended to read as follows:

Sec. 6-2 Votine Places.
The election of municipal officials and the voting place for such election in Precinct Number 501,
Northwest Leesburg, shall be at the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Department Building, 215 Loudoun Street,
SW; the election of municipal officials and the voting place for such election in Precinct Number 502,
Northeast Leesburg, shall be at the Shenandoah Office Building, 102 Heritage Way, NE; the election of
municipal officials and the voting place for such election in Precinct Number 505, Southeast Leesburg
shall be at the Cool Spring Elementary School,.501 Tavistock Drive SE; and the election of municipal
officials and the voting place for such election in Precinct Number 405 Southwest Leesburg be at the,
Leesburg Baptist Church, 835 Lee Avenue, SW.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall be effective immediately.
