AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
INDIANA CRIMINAL JUSTICE INSTITUTE
WHEREAS, the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, through its Fiscal Year 2008 Electronic
Citation System Equipment Grant program, has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond, through the Richmond Police Department, desires to
submit a grant application to pay for ten (10) of each of the following: hand bar
code scanners, vehicle thermal printers, universal printer mounts, paper, and
cables; and to pay for two-year extended warranties on the printers.
WHEREAS, a twenty-five percent (25%) local match is required for this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant
application to the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, through its Fiscal Year 2008 Electronic
Citation System Equipment Grant program to pay for ten (10) of each of the following: hand
bar code scanners, vehicle thermal printers, universal printer mounts, paper, and cables; and to
pay for two-year extended warranties on the printers.
2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding
in an amount up to Five Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars and Zero Cents ($5,250.00).
3. The City of Richmond will provide a local match from the D.E.A. Asset Forfeitures
account in an amount up to One Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars and No Cents
($1,750.00) which exceeds the 25% minimum local match required for said grant.
4. Said funds, if awarded shall be appropriated pay for ten (10) of each of the
following: hand bar code scanners, vehicle thermal printers, universal printer mounts, paper,
and cables; and to pay for two-year extended warranties on the printers.
Passed and adopted this _2nd _ day of _September , 2008 by the Common
Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
