Seven persons attended as follows: BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT (4) STAFF PRESENT (3) Mr. Rick Derks (Chair) Ms. Sara Trittler, Recruiting & Workman’s Comp Specialist Mr. Bill Burton (Vice Chair) Lt. Jeff Stiefermann Ms. Lisa Turner (Secretary) Brian Wolford – Associate City Counselor Mr. Ray Bledsoe BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT (3) Rob Trowbridge Wesley Dickman Ms. Kelly Dillon Following greetings, roll call was taken. Approval of March 12, 2015 minutes It was moved by Burton and seconded by Ms. Turner that the minutes for the March 12th meeting be approved. The motion was carried unanimously. New Associate City Counselor- Mr. Brian Wolford attended the Police Personnel Board meeting today. He began as Associate City Counselor on April 2nd, 2015. Mr. Derks and the other board members present introduced themselves and welcomed him. Hiring Update Veterinarian - Lt. Stiefermann announced that the oral interviews for Veterinarian were held March 23-24th. Mr. Burton from the PPB had the opportunity to sit in on one of these interviews. Once the interviews were completed on March 24th, there were three candidates that moved on to be interviewed by Chief Schroeder. Lt. Stiefermann announced that a successful candidate has been hired to fill this position of Veterinarian. Police officers- Lt. Stiefermann announced that there were nine candidates interviewed for the Police Officer positions and eight of them have moved forward to next stage of hiring process to have a polygraph. Communication Officers - Lt. Stiefermann announced that there were seven candidates that were interviewed with six of them moving forward with a polygraph. Lt. Stiefermann announced that there are currently four police officer vacancies and one communications operator vacancy. Within a week the background investigations will be in and the candidates that pass the background investigation will move on to interviews with Chief Schroeder. JCPD Appreciation Luncheon Mr. Derks announced that the JCPD Appreciation Luncheon will be postponed to September or October, 2015 due to the late start in the planning process this year. More will be discussed in next month’s meeting. Next Meeting Date- the next meeting is June 4, 2015. It was moved by Mr. Bledsoe and seconded by Ms. Turner for adjournment. The meeting was adjourned at 12:18. Respectfully, Lisa Turner
