USS Jefferson City Submarine Committee
Thursday, April 2, 2015; 4:30 p.m.
City Hall - 320 E. McCarty Street
Boone Bancroft Conference Room
Chair Dulle called the meeting to order at 4:35 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
Committee members present : Hal Dulle; Marti Thruston; Ivan Turner; Stephen Sampson; Lori
Rosberg; Councilmember Jim Branch and Patrick Bonnot arrived at 5:00 p.m.
Committee members absent : Michael Ryno.
ATTENDEES:
Staff: City Administrator Steve Crowell.
APPROVAL OF THE JANUARY 22, 2015 MEETING MINUTES:
Committee Member Branch made a motion to approve the minutes from the January 22, 2015
USS Jefferson City Submarine Committee meeting; seconded by Committee Member Thruston.
Aye: Dulle; Thruston; Turner; Sampson; Rosberg; and Branch (although Sampson and
Rosberg were not at the January 22, 2015 meeting).
Nay: None.
ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA:
There were not any additions to the agenda.
Committee Chair Dulle suggested the Committee proceed with New Business as the Committee
waited for the arrival of Committee Member Bonnot; there was a consensus of Committee
Members to do so.
Committee Chair Dulle welcomed new members Sampson and Rosberg to the Committee and
gave a brief overview of the Committee’s duties and responsibilities.
NEW BUSINESS:
Committee Member Thruston gave a brief summary of some of the past Committee sponsored
events which occurred when the USS Jefferson City crew members visited the City of Jefferson
City.

Steve Crowell reported that there was approximately $17,000 in the USS Jefferson City
Submarine Committee fund.
Chair Dulle reported that he requested a City of Jefferson flag be sent to the USS Jefferson City
for the Captain to display as the Captain felt appropriate. Steve Crowell indicated that a City flag
has been ordered.
There was a discussion regarding the merit of having the Committee host a table at the Fourth of
July event as a fundraiser. There was a consensus among the Committee members to have a
discussion at the next Committee meeting about hosting a table. Committee Member Thruston
indicated she would follow up on some of the requirements necessary to host a table at the
Fourth of July event.
OLD BUSINESS:
Committee Chair Dulle indicated that there was still one vacancy on the Committee. Chair Dulle
stated that he was working with a citizen to apply for the vacancy on the Committee.
Committee Member Bonnot indicated that he had made several attempts to contact the Captain
of the USS Jefferson City, without any success. Committee Member Bonnot indicated he would
continue to attempt to make contact with the appropriate ship personnel.
Committee Member Bonnot indicated that he would provide Steve Crowell with information
regarding the USS Jefferson City’s Facebook contact information which would then be
forwarded to Committee members.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
None.
NEXT MEETING DATE:
The next meeting of the USS Jefferson City Submarine Committee is scheduled for June 4, 2015
at 5: 00 p.m. in the Boone Bancroft (Large) Conference Room at City Hall.

Motion to adjourn was made by Committee Member Thruston; seconded by Bonnot.
