New Online Restaurant & Hotel Directories Debut
on Town of Leesburg Website
Leesburg, VA (August 3, 2010) – The Town of Leesburg’s website now features searchable
directories for restaurants and hotels. Both directories are searchable by name and by
category. The directories are part of on-going improvements to the Town’s website.
“Leesburg has over 100 restaurants, coffee shops, tea rooms, bakeries, ice cream shops and
other eateries,” said Marantha Edwards, the Town’s Economic Development Manager. “We’ve
had more than ten new restaurants open this year, and another six will be opening soon. The
new online directory is intended to drive traffic to all of our restaurants, new and established,
by making it easy for both locals and visitors to find them.”
The restaurant directory is located under the “Shopping & Dining” page of the Town website
(www.leesburgva.gov/restaurants). Restaurants are listed in thirteen categories, by cuisine,
and the listings are linked to Google Maps. The directory also includes a submission form for
users to submit corrections to existing listings or information on new restaurants.
“We make every effort to stay on top of changes and keep the website as up to date as
possible, but sometimes we miss things,” explained Betsy Fields, Research & Communications
Manager. “Through this online submission form, both the restaurateurs and the public can
help us keep our directory accurate.”
The hotel directory is located under the “Visitors” section of the Town website, as “Places to
Stay” (www.leesburgva.gov/hotels), and includes a link to Visit Loudoun’s website for visitors
needing assistance with group reservations.
