AN ORDINANCE: AMENDING ARTICLE XV, SECTION 5.1-60 OF THE TOWN CODE
RELATING TO THE CABLE TELEVISION ADVISORY COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to amend provisions in the town code relating to
the appointment of members of the Cable Television AdVisory Commission to be consistent with
Resolution No. 2000-148.
THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
ARTICLE XV, Section 5.1-60 is hereby amended as follows:
ARTICLE XV. CABLE TELEVISION ADVISORY COMMISSION
Sec. 5.1-60. Commission established generally.
(a) The Leesburg Cable Television Advisory Commission is hereby established. The
commission shall consist of seven members who shall be residents of the town
and appointed by the town council. An appointment to fill a vacancy shall be for

shall be a non-voting member of the commission and whose term of office shall
correspond to the official tenure of office as a council member. Commission

have any interest in grantee or its contractors or be an employee of the town.

Compensation of members of the town Cable Television Advisory Commission,
exclusive of the councilmanic appointment, after July 1, 1993 shall be $600.00
each per annUm, payable in equal monthly installments. Members shall be
reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in the exercise of their functions subject
to the availability of fund appropriated for the purpose and as approved in
advance by the town manager.
(c)
The commission shall elect its chairman annually and the town manager, or his
designate, shall serve as secretary. The commission shall meet monthly or more
often as determined by the commission. The chairman is required to report any

attendance problems to the town council, which has the authority to require a
member to resign if the said member is absent from three consecutive meetings.
