RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
LEASE BETWEEN CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AND A.
CUKIER AND TIMA CUKIER FOR USE OF LOT 713
OF TRACT 6561 FOR MUNICIPAL PARKING LOT
PURPOSES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds as follows:
a) Public parking in the commercial area of Temple
City is as vital and necessary to the public welfare as providing
proper public parking on city streets, providing proper street
lighting, sidewalks and other municipal services.
b) Public parking is a necessary ingredient to
provide a better commercial area and hence better business in
the City of Temple City; that the general public of the City of
Temple City are the direct beneficiaries of better business
within Temple City, which relies to a large extent on sales tax
revenues to provide funds with which to operate the government
of Temple City itself, and also a large portion of public ser-
vices including, but not limited to, better facilities and pro-
grams for its youth, thereby reducing the level of juvenile
problems; that the aid to betterment occasioned by better park-
ing enables Temple City citizens to shop at home and by so doing
help themselves by having their tax dollars paid in sales tax
stay where it benefits them most; that hence any direct or
indirect assistance to public parking is found to be a proper
use of the public power of the City of Temple City.
c) The copy of lease attached hereto (with the
addendum thereto, which is a part of said lease), marked Exhibit
"A ", is incorporated herein by reference. Said lease is found
to be in the public interest and necessary public parking within
the purview of paragraphs a) and b) immediately above.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby autho-
rized and directed to execute the lease attached hereto (Exhibit
"A ") and to do such acts and things as shall be reasonably
required to carry out the terms and conditions thereof.
