HomeMy Public PortalAbout2005_03_22_O006The Town of Leesburg, Virginia ORDINANCE NO. 2005-0-6 PRESENTED: ADOPTED: March 22, 2005 March 22, 2005 AN ORDINANCE: AMENDING SECTION 10-150(c)(1) OF THE TOWN CODE REGARDING THE PARKING FINE SCHEDULE WHEREAS, parking is an important component of the public infrastructure in Leesburg's Historic Downtown; and WHEREAS, in October 2003 the town commissioned a downtown parking management study; and WHEREAS, that study made specific recommendations to improve the distribution of existing parking resources in the Historic Downtown; and WHEREAS, the Council approved a plan to implement those recommendations in September 2004; and WHEREAS, the implementation plan calls for changes in the locations, time limits and rates of the on-street parking meters, changes in the monthly and hourly rates in the Town Hall Parking Garage, and a graduated parking fine schedule. THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. Section 1-150 (c)(1) of the Leesburg Town Code is amended as shown below: (c) Fine schedule: Fine (1) Overtime parking .............................................. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance is declared invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the decision shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any remaining provisions of the ordinance.
