RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH KILLAM
ASSOCIATES
WHEREAS, on March 15, 2001 the Borough Council passed Resolution # 01-92
transferring various engineering projects from Killam Associates to T&M
Associates; and
WHEREAS, after thoroughly reviewing the status of all ongoing engineering
projects, the Borough Council has determined that there are a number of projects
which, in the interest of the residents and taxpayers of the Borough of Carteret,
Killam Associates should handle to conclusion; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5 (1)(a) engineering services are
exempt from requirements of the competitive bidding; and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret that responsibility for the completion of the following engineering
projects shall remain with Killam Associates with payment for the same to be in
accordance with previous authorizations for the same:
1. Veteran's Ball Field Lighting; (Contract #00-08).
2. Boiler Replacement Cartemt Police Station; (Contract #00-10).
Suspect Area Sewer Separation and Improvements; (Contract #00-13)
(Killam will complete the design and permit applications under design phase
and transfer the documents to the Borough for bidding).
4. Drug Free Zone Map Update
5. Abandonment of Underground Storage Tanks at Various Sites;
(Contract #00-01).
6. Town Center Revitalization Project; (Contract #99-21).
7. DPW Above Ground Storage Tank and Fuel Management System
(Contract #99-20).
8. Town Center Area Sewer Cleaning and Internal Inspection;
(Contract #99-16)
9. Cooke Avenue Sewer Rehabilitation and Pershing Avenue Ama Sewer
Separation; (Contract #00-02)
10.Suspect Area Sewer Cleaning and Internal Inspection; (Contract #00-06)
11. Waterfront Park - Site Investigation; NJEDA HDSRF Grant

12. Annual Generator Service Contract - Request for quotations
13. Roosevelt Avenue Pump Station - Annual Pump/Control Panel Service

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Killmn Associates is hereby retained to
complete the following engineering projects through to completion for the
corresponding additional authorizations provided for herein:
14. Sabo Street Pump Station Project
(Contract #99-13)
15. Industn al Road Improvements -
Phase I Closeout (Contract #99-12)
16. Louis E. Fillmore - Closeout
(Contract #99-11) (Closeout of this project will
require the Borough Engineer and/or Public Works
Department to replace the inlet grates within project
limits as required by N.J.B.O.T. as a final punch
list item.
17. Bergen, Hayward & Harrison P.S. Improvement
(Contract #98-14)
18. S.S. Manhole Rehabilitation Phase I

19. DPW AST Project (Contract #99-20)
