AN ORDINANCE: TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SUBSECTION (a) OF SECTION 2.1-2
(AIRPORT COMMISSION CREATED) OF CHAPTER 2.1 (AIRPORT) OF
THE CODE OF THE TOWN OFLEESBURG, VIRGINIA, 1976, AS
AMENDED
THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the Council ofthe Town of Leesburg in Virginia
as follows:
SECTION I. That Subsection (a) of Section 2.1-2 (AIRPORT COMMISSION CREATED)
of Chapter 2.1 (AIRPORT) ofthe Code ofthe Town of Lees burg, Virginia, 1976, as amended, be
and the same hereby is amended to read as follows:
(a) The Leesburg Airport Commission is hereby established. The Commission shall
consist of seven voting members to be appointed by the Town Council for a two year

term.
In 'making the appointments, the Town Council shall consider but not be limited to
whether the applicant is a Town resident, owns a business or property in the Town,
works in Town, or has knowledge in the aviation industry.
In addition, there shall be two non-voting members; one shall be a Town Council
member appointed by the Town Council for a term that corresponds with their official
tenure as a Council member and the second shall have a two year term and shall serve as
a liaison to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors and be appointed by the Loudoun
County Board of Supervisors.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the date and at the time of its
final passage.
SECTION III. If any provision of this ordinance is declared invalid, the decision shall not
