HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006_07_11_O014 Amending the Development Review and Inspection Fee Schedule The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED July I L 2005 ORDINANCE NO. 2006-0-14 ADOPTED July 1 L 2005 AN ORDINANCE: AMENDING THE DEVELOPMENT REVIEW AND INSPECTION FEE SCHEDULE. WHEREAS, the fees for development-related applications and inspections have been evaluated to identify where new or revised fees may be appropriate to reflect current processing costs; and WHEREAS, Virginia Code 15.2-2241.9 provides authority for the imposition of reasonable fees and charges for the review of plats and plans, and for the inspection of facilities and Virginia Code 15.2-2286.A6 provides authority for the Town Council to collect fees to cover the cost of making inspections, issuing permits, advertising of notices and other expenses incident to the administration of a zoning ordinance or to the filing or processing of any appeal or amendment thereto; and WHEREAS, the FY 2007 Budget included recommendations for revising and initiating certain fees based upon town staff analysis of current fees; and WHEREAS, the staff recommends approval of the revised Development Review and Inspection Fee Schedule; and WHEREAS, these fees have not been revised since 2003 or earlier; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a duly advertised public hearing on the proposed fees on July 6, 2006; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recommended at its July 6, 2006 meeting that the Town Council approve the amendments to the Development Review and Inspection Fee Schedule; and 2 ORDINANCE: AMENDING THE DEVELOPMENT REVIEW AND INSPECTION FEE SCHEDULE WHEREAS, the Town Council held a duly advertised public hearing on the proposed fee schedule on July 11,2006. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: Section I. All prior ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION III. Severability. If a court of competent jurisdiction declares any provision of this ordinance invalid, the decision shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any remaining provisions of the zoning ordinance.
