HomeMy Public PortalAbout2006_09_12_O017 Amending Chap 10 of the TC re truck prohibitions The Town of Leesburg, Virginia PRESENTED: September12. 2006 ORDINANCE NO: 2006-0-17 ADOPTED: September 12.2006 AN ORDINANCE: TO AMEND SECTION 10-114, MOTORTRUCKS PROHIBITED UPON STREETS OF TOWN EXCEPT WHERE SPECIFICALLY PERMITTED OF THE CODE OF THE TOWN OF LEESBURG, VIRGINIA, 1976, AS AMENDED THEREFORE, ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia hereby ordains: SECTION I. That Section 10-114 (MOTORTRUCKS PROHIBITED UPON STREETS OF TOWN EXCEPT WHERE SPECIFICALLY PERMITTED) of Article IV (TRAFFIC SIGNS" SIGNALS AND MARKINGS) of Chapter 10 (MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC) of the Code of the Town of Leesburg, Virginia, 1976, as amended, be and the same hereby is amended to read as '. follows: (a) No motortruck shall be operated in the town upon the following streets or street intersections except when necessary for the purpose of receiving loads or making deliveries upon the following streets. (1) King Street (Route 15 ~usiness) between Battlefield Parkway and Catoctin Circle. (2) Market Street (Route 7 Business) between Liberty Street and East Loudoun Street. (3) Loudoun Street between Dry Mill Road and East Market Street. (4) Dry Mill Road between Catoctin Circle and Loudoun. (5) Harrison Street between PJaza Street and East Market Street. (6) Edwards Ferry Road between Plaza Street and East Market Street. (7) Lawson Road between Battlefield Parkway and Tuscarora Creek. -2- AN ORDINANCE: TO AMEND SECTION 10-114, MOTORTRUCKS PROHffiITED UPON STREETS OF TOWN EXCEPT WHERE SPECIFICALLY PERMIITED OF THE CODE OF THE TOWN OF LEESBURG, VIRGINIA, 1976, AS AMENDED (8) Davis/Lee A venue between South King Street and Dry Mill Road (9) Heritage Way between Fort Evans Road and Edwards Ferry Road. SECTION II. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the date and at the time of its final passage. SECTION III. If any provision of this ordinance is declared invalid, the decision shall not affect the validity ofthe ordinance as a whole or any remaining provisions of the ordinance.
