HomeMy Public PortalAbout2015-03-17 minutesMINUTES Plumbing Board of Review & Examiners Jefferson City, Missouri Tuesday, March 17, 2015 Members Present: Jerry Raithel David Wright Larry Burkhardt, Building Official Richard Hunt, Plumbing Inspector Members Absent: Michael Engelbrecht Gary Michel Council Liaison Present: Glen Costales Call to Order: The Plumbing Board of Review & Examiners met March 17, 2015 in the Small Conference Room of the John G. Christy Municipal Building. The meeting was called to order by Richard Hunt at 4:50 p.m. A quorum was present. Approval of Minutes for the January 20, 2015 Meeting A motion was made by David Wright and seconded by Jerry Raithel to approve the minutes of the January 20, 2015 meeting. The motion passed unanimously. Topics to Discuss a. Submit Applicants Requiring Master or Journeyman Exams Ethan Bax, Adam Kirsch, Aaron Sandbothe, and Justin Schulte provided proof of hours and were accepted by the Plumbing Board to take their Journeyman test. Richard Smith had not provided proof of hours and was rejected at this time. b. Dual Licensed Contractors and Their Apprentices The Plumbing Board was presented a draft of the Electrical Board's requirements regarding dual licensed contractors and their apprentices. After discussion the Board agreed to have the same requirements. A motion was made by Jerry Raithel and seconded by Larry Burkhardt that a multi - licensed individual can only supervise 2 apprentices in one trade at any one permitted job and that apprentices may only obtain one trade license per calendar year. The motion passed unanimously. Old Business: David Wright asked to discuss cpvc pipe, which was a topic from the last board meeting. Jerry Raithel suggested this be tabled until the next meeting, so that Gary Michel might be able to attend and be a part of the discussion. New Business a. Larry Burkhardt discussed a new application on the City of Jefferson's website that would allow the public to be able to check on their permits. b. Larry Burkhardt discussed the need for mechanical inspections and for setting up a board and inspector to carry these out. After discussion the board members agreed that this was an area that needed to be inspected and regulated. c. There was discussion on changing the City code to accept 6 plumbing board members which is 1 more than the current 5 members.
