Title
An Ordinance amending and reordaining the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Leesburg,
Virginia, 2003, as amended, by adding Sub-sub-subsection 8.2.2.F.3 (PD REZONING PLAN
APPROV AL CRITERIA) to Sub-subsection 8.2.2.F (PD REZONING PLAN APPROV AL
CRITERIA) of Subsection 8.2.2 (PLANNED DEVELOPMENT [PD] REZONING PLANS) of
Section 8.2 (PROCEDURES) of Article 8 (PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICTS).
Summary
The proposed Ordinance adds to the PD rezoning plan approval criteria.

AN ORDINANCE: AMENDING AND REORDAINING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF
THE TOWN OF LEES BURG, VIRGINIA, 2003, AS AMENDED, BY
ADDING SUB-SUB-SUBSECTION 8.2.2.F.3 (PD REZONING PLAN
APPROVAL CRITERIA) TO SUB-SUBSECTION 8.2.2.F (PD
REZONING PLAN APPROV AL CRITERIA) OF SUBSECTION 8.2.2
(PLANNED DEVELOPMENT [PD] REZONING PLANS) OF SECTION
8.2 (PROCEDURES) OF ARTICLE 8 (PLANNED DEVELOPMENT
DISTRICTS).
The Town Council of Leesburg, Virginia, ordains:
SECTION I. That the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Leesburg, Virginia, 2003, as
amended be and the same is hereby amended and reordained by adding Sub-sub-subsection
8.2.2.F.3 (PD REZONING PLAN APPROVAL CRITERIA) to Sub-subsection 8.2.2.F (PD
REZONING PLAN APPROV AL CRITERIA) of Subsection 8.2.2 (PLANNED
DEVELOPMENT [PD] REZONING PLANS) of Section 8.2 (PROCEDURES) of Article 8
(PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICTS), to read as follows:
3. Applicant shall provide the following information prior to approval to determine if
there are historic and/or archeological resources of local. state or national significance
that are worthy of protection on the proposed site:
!h Structures, any portion of which was constructed prior to 1940, located on any
portion of land designated within the Planned Development District, require
an Intensive Level architectural survey conducted in accordance with State
Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) survey standards by an individual or firm
that meets the professional qualification standards set forth in 36 CFR 61,

(PLANNED DEVELOPMENT [PD] REZONING PLANS) OF SECTION
8.2 (PROCEDURES) OF ARTICLE 8 (PLANNED DEVELOPMENT
DISTRICTS).
Appendix A to evaluate the structure and the site for its local. state, or national
sig:nificance as an individual resource or as a district using:
1: The National Register Criteria for Evaluation listed in 36
CFR 60.4: and
2. The Criteria for Designation listed under Sec. 7.5.1O.B.l of
the Zoning Ordinance.
b. For Planned Development Districts a Phase I archeological survey shall be
conducted in accordance with SHPO standards bv an individual or firm that
meets the professional qualification standards set forth in 36 CFR 61,
Appendix A.
~ A letter from the state Historic Preservation Office concurring with the
evaluation listed in "b" above.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the date and at the time of its
final passage.
SECTION III. If any provision of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the decision shall
not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole or any remaining provisions of the Ordinance.
