AN ORDINANCE: AMENDING AND REORDAINING SUBSECTION 12.9.4
(DIVERSITY) OF SECTION 12.9 (PLANT MATERIAL
SPECIFICATIONS) OF ARTICLE 12 (LANDSCAPING, SCREENING,
OPEN SPACE AND LIGHTING) OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF
THE TOWN OF LEES BURG, VIRGINIA, 2003, AS AMENDED.
The Town Council of Leesburg, Virginia, ordains:
SECTION I. That Subsection 12.9.4 (DIVERSITY) of Section 12.9 (PLANT
MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS) of Article 12 (LANDSCAPING, SCREENING, OPEN
SPACE AND LIGHTING) of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Leesburg, Virginia, 2003, as
amended, be and the same is hereby amended and reordained to read as follows:
12.9.4 Diversity
For each group of plant material (Large Canopy Trees, Shrubs, etc.) the plan shall have a
diverse mix of species. In those cases where there are twenty-one (21) or more of one
plant type (such as large canopy trees) +lhe percentage of one species within each group
shall not exceed thirty percent (30%). In smaller projects where twenty or less of any
plant type are required. the 30% maximum shall not apply.
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall become effective upon the date and at the time of its
final passage.
SECTION III. If any provision of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the decision shall
not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole or any remaining provisions of the Ordinance.
