VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD
MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 6, 2020
AT: VILLAGE HALL
BOARD PRESENT: M.COLLINS, H.BENTON, M.BONUCHI, P.KALANIS, C.LARSON, AND
B.WOJOWSKI. BOARD ABSENT: K.CALKINS. OTHERS PRESENT: B.MURPHY, VILLAGE
ADMINISTRATOR; J.HARVEY, ATTORNEY; M.GIBAS, VILLAGE CLERK; D.WOLD,
ENGINEER; A.PERSONS, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR; J.PROULX, PLANNING DIRECTOR;
L.SPIRES, BUILDING OFFICIAL; T.PLECKHAM, MANAGEMENT SERVICES DIRECTOR;
AND J.KONOPEK, CHIEF OF POLICE.
CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL, PLEDGE
Mayor Collins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll call was taken,Trustee Calkins was absent,
all Trustees were present. A Boy Scout present in the audience led the Pledge of Allegiance. There
were approximately 5 persons in the audience.
PRESIDENTIAL COMMENTS
Mayor Collins warned everyone to stay off the ice and welcomed in the new year.
TRUSTEES COMMENTS
Trustee Bonuchi wished everyone a Happy New Year.
PUBLIC COMMENTS (3-5 minutes)
Mr. Richard Murphy inquired about the rules for fences on corner lots. Mr. Proulx briefly reviewed
the regulations and stated he would be happy to meet with Mr. Murphy after the meeting.
BUSINESS MEETING
1) APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Trustee Larson moved to approve the Agenda. Second by Trustee Bonuchi. Vote by roll call. Bonuchi,
yes; Calkins, absent; Kalkanis, yes; Larson, yes; Wojowski, yes; Benton, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, 1 absent.
Motion carried.
2) CONSENT AGENDA
Trustee Larson moved to approve the Consent Agenda to include:
a) Approval of the Minutes of the Board Meeting held on December 16, 2019.
b) Bills Paid and Bills Payable Reports for January 6, 2020.
c) Authorize payment to Baish Excavating, Inc. in the amount of$14,204.28 for the
emergency repair of the Route 30 Sanitary Sewer Main.
Second by Trustee Bonuchi. Vote by roll call. Bonuchi,yes; Calkins, absent; Kalkanis,yes; Larson,
yes; Wojowski,yes; Benton, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, 1 absent. Motion carried
3) 2020 PLAINFIELD SCHOOL DISTRICT 202 EMPLOYEE WELLNESS 5K
Trustee Wojowski moved to approve the 2020 Plainfield School District Employee Wellness 5K and
associated road closures to be held on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. Second by Trustee
Benton. Vote by roll call. Bonuchi,yes; Calkins, absent; Kalkanis,yes; Larson,yes; Wojowski,yes;
Benton, yes. 5 yes, 0 no, 1 absent. Motion carried

Trustee Larson moved to adjourn. Second by Trustee Bonuchi. Voice Vote. All in favor, 0 opposed.
Motion carried.
