A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY IN RECOGNITION
OF THE OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY SERVICE -
- OF RALPH H. TURNER AS EDITOR AND PUBLISH-
ER OF THE TEMPLE CITY TIMES
WHEREAS, Ralph H. Turner purchased the Temple City Times
on May 8, 1947, and
WHEREAS, Ralph H. Turner as editor and published of the
Temple City Times provided the citizens of the City of Temple City
with a newspaper exemplifying, in the highest degree, the traditions,
obligations and duties of a free press, and
WHEREAS , Ralph H. Turner retired as editor and publisher
of the Temple City Times in March, 1964, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City de-
sires to pay just tribute to the outstanding work of Ralph H. Turner,
now therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager, William Woollett, Jr., shall
forthwith cause to be prepared a framed scroll, which shall bear the
following legend:

TO
RALPH H. TURNER
FOR
His outstanding service to the City of Temple City and
to the constitutional guarantee of a free press through
his publishing and editing in the City of Temple City
between May 8, 1947, and March 26, 1964, THE TEMPLE CITY
TIMES, a newspaper dedicated to upholding the traditions
obligations, duties and responsibilities of a free press,
