America’s 9/11 Ride To Come Through Leesburg on Friday,
August 20, 2010
Leesburg, VA (August 12, 2010) – On Friday, August 20, 2010, America’s 9/11 Ride will be
traveling through Leesburg. This motorcycle ride features riders from across the United States
who travel a two-day course in honor of the lives lost on September 11, 2001.
The ride will go south on Highway 15 Business into Leesburg, continuing southbound on King
Street through the Historic Downtown. Riders will then take the Route 7/15 Bypass east to the
Dulles Greenway, where riders will enter the Dulles Greenway and travel to Washington D.C.
Riders are expected to arrive in Leesburg at approximately 1:45 p.m., however this time is
dependent on weather, construction, and other traffic conditions. During the procession
through the downtown, King Street will be closed to all cross traffic. The closure is expected to
be in effect for roughly 30 minutes.
