Town Hall Annex Board Meeting Room, 105 E. Corbin St.
Present: Chair Matt Hughes, Mark Bateman, and Dani Black
Staff: Economic Development Planner Shannan Campbell
1. Call to order
Chair Matt Hughes called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Economic Development Planner Shannan
Campbell confirmed the presence of a quorum.
2. Agenda changes and approval
There were no changes. The agenda stood as presented.
3. Minutes review and approval
Minutes from regular meeting on Dec. 16, 2019
Motion: Hughes moved approval of the minutes as presented. Member Mark Bateman seconded.
Vote: Unanimous
4. Action items
Adopt 2020 meeting calendar
Motion: Member Dani Black moved to approve the meeting calendar. Bateman seconded.
Vote: Unanimous
5. Discussion items
Draft budget review for fiscal year 2021
Campbell shared the draft budget with the board. She noted the cost of support staff would drop by 18%
because the position is funded by three sources and work related to the Tourism Board and the Planning
Department require more staff time. She explained that the new split would be TDA- 20%, Tourism Board-
40%, Town- 40%. She also explained that for FY20 and FY21 that the Town of Hillsborough 3% holdback would
now be shown as expenditure/line item instead of a reduction of revenues.
