Weddings on Wirt Street Ribbon Cutting Scheduled for
Tuesday, August 31, 2010
Leesburg, VA (August 12, 2010) – At 6 pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, Town of Leesburg officials
will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for Weddings on Wirt Street, located at 3 Wirt Street NW in Historic
Downtown Leesburg. Council Member Marty Martinez will be officiating.
Weddings on Wirt Street is a located in a little
brick cottage that was recently renovated by
building owners Ron Rust and his wife Judy
Kozacik to host ceremonies and other small
events. The site functions as a wedding chapel
and also serves as an office for event planning
and wedding floral design. Included in the
building are offices for Suzanne Fox, a licensed
wedding celebrant and owner of Legacy
Weddings, and Jennifer Morris, owner of J. Morris
Flowers.
Built in 1936 as a wedding gift for a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Burr Powell Harrison, over the years
the cottage has been both a residence and a commercial site. In the early 1940s, it housed a private
kindergarten. The venue adds a nice feature to the historic district and will provide an additional site for
wedding ceremonies, allowing couples to have their reception at one of the fine Leesburg restaurants
with easy walking distance of the site.
“We are positioning the site as a ‘Step up from the Courthouse Steps’ for those who want a lovely site
without the cost and fuss of a larger wedding reception,” explained owner Ron Rust.
Both Ms. Fox and Ms. Morris are pleased to have offices downtown for the convenience of their
wedding clients.

“The chapel arrangement is wonderful for the wedding that is too small for the larger sites, but not
suited for a courthouse wedding,” Ms. Fox commented.
