Leesburg to Host FOIA/COIA and Robert’s Rules of Order
Training for Board & Commission Members
Leesburg, VA (August 17, 2010) – The Leesburg Town Council is hosting a training session on
FOIA/COIA (Freedom of Information Act/Conflict of Interest Act) and Robert’s Rules of Order for all
Town Board and Commission members. Training will take place on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at
7:00 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers at the Leesburg Town Hall (25 West Market Street).
Speakers will include Maria Evert, Director of the FOIA Council of the Commonwealth of Virginia; Jim
Plowman, Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney; and Jack Roberts, Loudoun County Attorney.
Jeanette Irby, Leesburg Town Attorney, will serve as the session moderator. Training will also cover use
of the Town’s SharePoint intranet and email systems. All Boards and Commission members are invited
to attend the training. Members of the public are welcome.
