Attached is a summary of bids. Three bids were received and are summarized as follows: NAME BASE BID BASE BID WITH ADDL ALTERNATES A-1 THROUGH A-4 V & K Construction $ 999,610.00 $1,090,610.00 Tomae Conslruction Corp $1,053,200.00 $1,147,900.00 P&H Contractors $ 1,567,950.00 $ ],752,990.00 Engineer's Estimate $ 923,475.00 $1~052,975.00 The low bidder is V&K Construction of Edison, New Jersey. All required forms were submitted by V&K Construction. Their bid proposal had defects in that several unit prices and written amounts were not written in. There does not appear to be any errors in the extended amounts as totals. The bid proposal has been sent to the Borough Attorney for review. V&K Construction was recently awarded a contract in Homdei Fownsbip for a restroom building and gazebo similar to the Waterfront Park project. T&M Associates is administering that construction contract, however, the work has not begun. We do not have any experience with this company. V&K provided references with their bid. We were able to reach two of the references for projects in Ridgewood and Mendham. Both references were positive and would recommend V&K on future projects. The license held by Donald Kausch of Double D Electric of Freehold, New Jersey, is valid and has no disciplinary action. It is understood that the Borough has funding available and would like to award a contract for the Base Bid and include Additional Alternates A-1 through A~4. The total amount of the V & K Base Bid is $999,610. When Additional Alternates A-1 through A-4 are included, the contract amount would be $1,090,610. When considering available funding, the Borough is reminded that the walkway and parking lot decorative lights will be purchased directly by the Borough at an estimated cost of $110,000. With the decorative light purchase, the total construction cost would be $1,200,610. Based on favorable review by the Borough Attorney and satisfactory past performance, I recommend the Mayor and Borough Council award a contract to V&K Construction of Edison, New Jersey in the amount of $I,090,610. Award should also be subject to certification of funds by the Chief Financial Officer, review and approval of the bid documents by Green Acres, and approval of the New Jersey Department of Labor, Division of Wage & Hour Compliance.
