HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolutions-2013-116 (2)RESOLUTION NO. 2013-116 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THE IA DOT TO REDUCE THE SPEED LIMIT ON HIGHWAY 6 FROM JASPER AVE TO HALF MOON TO 35 MPH Whereas, The City recognizes that reducing speed limits on HWY 6 will be beneficial in several areas and; Whereas the City Council of the City of Tiffin recognizes that the reduced speeds is overall beneficial to the safety and welfare of the residents; Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to approve the City Administrator to move forward with the IA DOT to reduce the speed limit on Highway 6 to 35 MPH and to 25 MPH in school zones. On the 12th day of June, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Kahler introduced Resolution No. 2013-116, A RESOLUTIONAUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THE IA DOT TO REDUCE THE SPEED LIMIT ON HIGHWAY 6 FROM JASPER AVE TO HALF MOON TO 35 MPH and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson Ryan. Ayes: Kahler, Ryan, Upton, Phillips Nays: Bartels Absent: None Whereupon four Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner declared that the Resolution No. 2013-116, A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THE IA DOT TO REDUCE THE SPEED LIMIT ON HIGHWAY 6 FROM JASPER AVE TO HALF MOON TO 35 MPH to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
