AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THAT TRAFFIC CONTROL
STOP SIGNS BE ERJOCTED AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF
PERRY'.l'CE AT THE IN'.l'E:RSOCTICE OF THAT STREE:l' WI'lH
JANESVILIB AND AT A POINT (If THE SOU'.I'BWEST SIDE OF
JANESVIUE STREET DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM THE
NORTHEAST CORNER POINT OF THE INTERSECTION OF
PERRYTON AND JANESVILLE STREET: AND REQUIRING
DRIVER CBEDIEICE TO SAID STOP SIQiIS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE,
KANSAS:
SECTION 1. It is hereby directed that traffic control stop
signs be erected at the following locations within the City of Bel
Aire, ,
(a) A stop sign shall be erected on the Northeast Corner of
Perryton at the intersection of that street with Janesville
(b) A stop sign shall be erected on the Southwest side of
Janesville Street directly across from the Northeast point of the
intersection of Perryton and Janesville Street.
SECTION 2. The traffic control stop sign shall conform to the
manual and specifications currently approved by the State Highway
Commission of the State of Kansas, or the revisions thereto.
seeTON 3. Except when directed to proceed by a police officer,
every driver of a vehicle approaching the stop intersection as
indicated by a stop sign shall stop before entering the crosswalk on
the near side of the intersection or, in the event there is no
crosswalk, shall stop at a clearly marked st.op line, but if none, then
at a point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a
view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before
entering the intersection.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its
publication in the official City newspaper.
