AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT
FROM THE UNITED STATES CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL
AND COMMUNITY SERVICE
WHEREAS, The United States Corporation for National and Community Service has grant
funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department desires to submit a grant
application to obtain funds that will be used by the Retired and Senior
Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.) operated by the Richmond Parks and Recreation
Department; and
WHEREAS, a total local match of Thirty Percent (30%) or Eleven Thousand Five Hundred
Fifteen Dollars and Twenty Cents ($11,515.20) is required, of which Six
Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($6,000.00) shall be from the 2009 Budget
of the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department. The remainder of said
local match is made by fundraisers and donations.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is hereby authorized to
submit a grant application to the United States Corporation for National and Community
Service.
2. The City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is authorized to accept said
grant funding in an amount up to Thirty-eight Thousand Three Hundred Eighty-four Dollars
and Zero Cents ($38,384.00), contingent upon a total local match of 30% or Eleven Thousand
Five Hundred Fifteen Dollars and Twenty Cents ($11,515.20), of which Six Thousand
Dollars and Zero Cents ($6,000.00) shall be from the 2009 Budget of the Richmond Parks
and Recreation Department. The remainder of said local match is made by fundraisers and
donations.
3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department
shall be appropriated to fund programs and services provided by the Retired and Senior
Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.).
Passed and adopted this 6th day of October 2008, by the Common
Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
