ACCEPTING DOWNTOWN AND BUSINESS DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT
GRANT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND BOROUGH CLEK TO
EXECUTE DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Middlesex have
established the Middlesex County Downtown and Business District Improvement
Fund (the "Program") to provide funding to local municipalities for certain types of
revitalization projects proposed for downtown areas or town centers; and
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") submitted a "Middlesex
County Downtown and Business District Improvement Fund" Grant Application
dated November 17, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Chosen Freeholders adopted a resolution on March 1,
2001, authorizing the execution of a Grant Agreement in regard to a Program Grant
to the Borough in the amount of $75,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Borough wishes to enter into said Agreement with the Middlesex
County Board of Chosen Freeholders for the above-mentioned Grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Borough of Carteret, County of
Middlesex, that that Governing Body hereby accepts the conditions of the above
referenced Grant and authorizes the Mayor and Borough Clerk to execute any all
documents necessary to secure said funding.
