Thomas Balch Library Commission Seeks Nominations for
18th Annual Loudoun History Awards
Leesburg, VA (September 9, 2010) – The Thomas Balch Library Advisory Commission invites
nominations for the 18th annual Loudoun History Awards. Established in 1993, the Loudoun
History Awards recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to preserving
Loudoun’s past through the collection of county documents and memorabilia, the preservation
of historic landmarks, visual arts, writing and long-term involvement in local history
organizations.
Letters of nomination should include a brief statement in support of the individual’s
accomplishments, include contact information for the nominee, and be directed to:

Deadline for nominations is Monday, October 11, 2010.
The 2010 Loudoun History Awards will be presented at a ceremony on Sunday, November 14,
2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Thomas Balch Library.
History Award recipients in 2009 were Anne Donovan Larson, W. Brown Morton III, Henry G.
Plaster and Mary E. Randolph.
