August 22, 1991
The Greencastle Board of Works met in special session on Thursday, August 22,
1991 at 4:00 p.m, in City Hall. On call of the roll the following members were shown to
be present: Mayor Harmless, Mrs. Crawley, Mr. Lanie.
The minutes of August 15 regular session and August 15 executive session were
distributed to the Board. Mrs. Crawley moved to approve the minutes as distributed.
This motion was seconded by Mr. Lanie and was carried by an aye unanimous vote.
Mayor Harmless asked for any and all bids for the 10th Street Improvement
project, reference grant no. ID89 -014. The following bid was presented.
Dalton Asphalt Corporation, P.O. Box 426, Cloverdale, IN 46120
Bid packet included:
1. Form 96 with non - collusion affidavit.
2. Bid Bond in the amount of 5 ° Jo of bid from USF&-G.
3. Addendum receipt.
4. Bid based unit prices listed in specifications for sections A,B,C:
$370,857.31 (asphalt)
5. Alternate - sections A,B asphalt and section C concrete add $128,910.00
Less the amount for asphalt in section C.
Alternate removal and relocation of two fire hydrants $4,325.00.
6. Voluntary alternate - project commencement 15 clays after receipt of
notice to proceed, construction duration 50 working days.
® Mr. Lanie moved to receive the bid for consideration and review by the project engineer
Alan Stanley& Associates and the city engineer, Ron Smith. Mrs. Crawley seconded the
motion and it was carried by an aye unanimous vote.
Mr. Lanie reported that after review of applications and personal interviews he
moved to recommend the following persons for hire as dispatchers in the police
department: Stacy Broadstreet, Tammy Rollins, Russell Evans, Kathy Baysinger. Mrs.
Crawley noted that after review of applications and references she concurs with the
recommendation. The motion was seconded by Mrs. Crawley and was carried by an aye
unanimous vote. The Board indicated that the police department will be responsible for
hiring an applicant to fill the part -time position.
There were no casement claims brought forward.
With no further business, Mrs. Crawley moved for adjournment. This motion was
seconded by Mr. Lanic, was carried by an aye unanimous vote, and the meeting was
adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
