Building, Monday, July 16, 1951 at 8:00 olelock P. M.
There were present: Messrs. Beatty, Brown, Simons, and.
Dr. Leonard.
Absent: Mr. Stokely
Also present were Mr. W. H. Webb, Village Manager; and Mary
Wetterer, Village Clerk.
In the absence of the Mayor Mr. Stokely, the Vice -Mayor; Dr.
Leonard, presided at the meeting. .
The minutes of .the previous meeting of July 9, 1951 were read,
and after correction by Mr. Simons, on motion of Mr. Brown, seconded
by Mr. Simons, the minutes were accepted as corrected.
Mr. Brown said that While has was in the north he was asked
about Mr. Barnes' letter and asked.wbet the status of the letter the
Mayor was going to prepare_for the members clearing,up some refer
ences'to::the Village. Mr.'Webb explained to him that one of the
questions referred to covered the assignments of the .water mains and
itwas his understanding that Mr. Therre8s office was working on
these mow and as .soon as they were accepted by the council the letter
would be sent out.
Mr. Webb was asked what had been done about the -Collins Avenua
sidewalk.instAllation and sprinkler contract for the park and he
advised that the engineers had not finished their work on the side-
walk layout, but that the sprinkler contract had been let.
Mr. Webb.said he had a 1wker from Mr. Frank Miller, Jr., a
councilman of the down of Borth Miami asking any officials of Bal
Herbour who eared to to attend a meeting at North Miami regarding
the Inter -American Trade Mart. -The Council decided the letter re-
quired no official action.
Mr.. Charles F. Henry., owner of the Emerald Isle Hotel, appeared
before the Council to discuss four electrical signs he had placed in
front of the hotel without permission of the'couneil. After.consider
able dismission on these signs the council agreed that they .would
permit Mr. Henry to erect one small sign in front of his hotel and
Mr. Webb and any of the councilmen who wished to would meet with.Mr.
Henry the next day and try to work out a suitable answer to his pro-
blem.
There being no further business before the meeting on'motion of
Mr. Simonss,spconded by Mr. Brown, the meeting was adjourned. ,
