RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA, DETER-
MINING THAT A PORTION OF THE COSTS AND
EXPENSES OF THE PROPOSED ACQUISITION
AND IMPROVEMENT FOR A VEHICLE PARKING
DISTRICT SHALL BE PAID BY SAID CITY.
(Vehicle Parking District No. 4)
WHEREAS, on October 12, 1964, a petition under the
Vehicle Parking District Law of 1943 (Part 1 of Division 18 of the
Streets and Highways Code) for the formation of a vehicle parking
district was filed in the office of the City Clerk, and said peti-
tion was checked and presented to this City Council as provided by
law; and
WHEREAS, this City Council has determined that said peti-
tion is signed by the requisite number of signers and is in all
respects a good and sufficient petition; and
WHEREAS, this City Council has designated said proposed
district as "Vehicle Parking District No. 4 of the City of Temple
City;" and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of this city by its
Resolution No. 64 -97PC adopted July 6, 1964, required as a condi-
tion of granting a zoning variance upon property owned by American
Savings and Loan Association and located at 9647 East Las Tunas
Drive, Temple City, California, that if a vehicle parking district
were thereafter formed which included said property, said savings
and loan association should pay upon such formation a sum of money
equal to five times the cost of each individual parking space as
determined by the city's engineer, but not to exceed $10,000, said
sum to be paid to the city to defray a portion of the cost and
expense of the aforesaid vehicle parking district; and
WHEREAS, this City Council is of the opinion that the
public interest and necessity require the acquisition and improve-
ment proposed by the aforesaid petition and that it is desirable
that the city contribute in such proceeding the sum of money to be
paid to the city by said savings and loan association;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple
City, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as
follows:
Section 1. This City Council hereby determines that the
sum of money to be paid to the city by American Savings and Loan
Association, which sum is presently estimated to be $10,000, shall
be contributed by the city to pay a portion of the costs and
expenses of the proposed acquisition and improvement for Vehicle
Parking District No. 4 of said city.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 8th day of February,
1965.
