HomeMy Public PortalAboutMinutes - 9/20/2007 The Wellsburg City Council met in special session September 20, 2007 with Mayor Fox presiding and Council Members James, Lindaman, Nielsen and Van Heiden present. Absent Van Hauen.
Todd Rempe and Karen Mennenga representing the Wellsburg Public Library presented information about the fund raising for the new library. Council tabled the approval of a contract
for fund raising services until the October 1, 2007 meeting.
Todd Rempe presented candidates for the Library Board vacancy. The Mayor appointed Mardelle Werkman to the remaining two year term vacated by Lillian Eiten. Motion by James to accept
the appointment of Mardelle Werkman, second by Lindaman. All ayes, carried.
At 7:20 p.m. being the time and place specified for taking action on the proposal to enter into a loan agreement, the City Clerk announced that no written objections had been placed
on file. Whereupon, the Mayor called for any written or oral objections, and there being none, the Mayor closed the public hearing at 7:25 p.m.
After due consideration and discussion, Lindaman introduced a Resolution 09-2007-4 taking additional action to enter into a Loan Agreement and moved its adoption, seconded by Van Heiden.
The Mayor put the question upon the adoption of said resolution, and the roll being called, following voted aye: James, Lindaman, Nielsen and Van Heiden. Nays: none. Motion carried.
Motion by Nielsen to approve Resolution 09-2007-5 a Resolution establishing a solid waste reduction program, second by James. Roll call of votes. Ayes: James, Lindaman, Nielsen and
Van Heiden. Motion carried.
Motion Lindaman second by Van Heiden to have Municipal Pipe and Tool smoke test all city sewer lines. Cost to approximately $7,596.50. All ayes, carried.
Discussion of the housing subdivision gas and electric utility infrastructure cost. Cost of overhead electric will be $20,871.56. Cost of gas service $10,552.49.
Motion to adjourn James second Lindaman. All ayes, carried.
